  • The Ruby and Calvin Fletcher African American History Museum, 952 East Broadway, Open: Mon, Wed, Thurs, Sat – 10am-5pm, Closed: Tues, Friday & Sun, Fee to enter: Free, Feature/exhibits: Collection of artifacts which reflect decades of turbulent times for African Americans in the United States.

  • Veterans Museum, 5952 Main Street, Open: Wed – 1-3pm, Sat – 10am-2pm, Sun – 1-3pm Closed: Mon, Tues, Thurs & Friday, Fee to enter: Free, Feature/exhibits: Stories and artifacts on our town’s veterans (any man or woman who served in the Armed Forces, was honorably discharged, and are (or were) residents of Stratford, CT.

  • National Helicopter Museum, 2480 Main St, Open Friday through Sunday from 1:00 – 4:00 pm from Memorial Day to mid-October. Fee to enter: This is a free Museum, although donations are appreciated. Feature/exhibits: Model of first helicopter flight in Stratford in 1939, an actual Sikorsky S-76 cockpit and a computer based helicopter flight simulator.

  • Boothe Park/Boothe Memorial Museum, 5774 Main St. Putney, Open Memorial day to Labor day Fridays 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m., Sundays 1:00 p.m. – 3:30 p.m., Fee to enter: The Park grounds are open and free of charge, year round
    Feature/exhibits: Collection of buildings including a carriage house, Americana Museum, miniature lighthouse and windmill, a clocktower museum, a trolley station, a chapel and a blacksmith shop. The original Sikorsky Bridge toll booth from the Merritt Parkway is located on the museum grounds.

  • Judson House, 967 Academy Hill Road, Open: Tuesday and Friday from 10AM to 2PM, Fee to enter: Free, Feature/exhibits: Georgian architecture, period pieces of Stratford origin.  Early piano which belonged to William Samuel Johnson, a Stratford resident, framer of the U.S. Constitution, and the first president of Columbia University.

  • CT Air & Space Museum, 550 South Main Street, Open Sat & Sun: 10am- 4pm
    Fee to enter: Adults: $10, Vets: $7, Kids +6: $5, Feature/exhibits: Vintage aircraft, memorabilia, and artifacts that pertain to Connecticut, both inside and out.

  • Merritt Parkway Museum, Ryders Landing Shopping Center, 6580 Main Street
    Hours: Mon-Fri, 9am – 5pm, Fee to enter: Free, Feature/exhibits: Archives, photos and a 30-minute video describing the early challenges of building the Merritt.
